MVBC seeking incorporation in Ohio

The MVBC Board of Directors have chosen to file articles of incorporation with the Ohio Secretary of State and will absorb the costs of filing for incorporation in Ohio. That is, your club dues (since the club already exists and none of you are new members) will not increase, and the uses of the club dues collected will continue to be for regular club activities.

Through this, MVBC will be assigned a tax identification number and will seek tax-exempt status as a social club under IRS code 501(c)(7).

An additional benefit is that, assuming the MVBC is able to achieve its goal of receiving 501(c)(7) status, perhaps some discounts may be available from breweries in the area, just for being a member of Brew Club!
